I am drawn to things that hold up under load.
Organizations, systems, and occasionally my own legs. Strategy and Operations leader based in New York, currently running an AI systems consultancy I founded.
12+years operating 5industries entered cold 30+endurance races 50+countries
Five industries I knew nothing about
Biotech, credit ratings, health insurance, infrastructure SaaS, streaming media. I walked into each of them without the domain and had to become useful quickly, which turns out to be most of the job when you are the person handed the thing nobody owns.
That pattern is not on my resume as a skill, but it is probably the most transferable thing I do. The method in how I work came out of needing something that survives contact with an industry I have never seen.
Marathons, Hyrox, and a long-running argument with my own pacing
Thirty-plus endurance races. Marathons and Hyrox mostly, with the occasional ultra when I have lost perspective. Training is the one part of my life with a genuinely honest feedback loop, which is probably why I keep going back to it.
Fifty-plus countries, usually with a plan that survives about a day and a half. Featured in Condé Nast Traveler on getting more out of a limited vacation policy ↗
I cook seriously, which is the other place where a process either works or it does not and there is no arguing with the result.
A neuroscience degree that turned out to be relevant
I studied neuroscience at William & Mary with a minor in process management, which sounded like an odd pairing at the time and has aged better than expected. Both are the study of how a system takes in messy information and produces a decision.

What I am looking for
A Chief of Staff or Strategy and Operations seat where the problems are genuinely ambiguous and the operating model is not yet built. I am most useful early, when the shape of the thing is still undecided, and I would rather build the infrastructure than inherit it.
Based in New York, open to remote. A 20-minute call is the fastest way to work out whether I am useful to you.
If you have a mandate that needs an owner, let’s talk.
